Spit on at Europa Park

I have been very busy as of lately… being a tourist… not sure that actually qualifies as being busy.   (Although I think I will need a “rest” vacation after this vacation).   In this post I would like to share some pictures of Europa Park.

For those of you who are not familiar with this park here is a map and some information.

Europa Park is the largest theme park in Germany and the second most popular them park resourt in Europe, following Disneyland Paris.   It is located in Rust, Germany (funny name for a city) between Freiburg and Strasbourg, France.

We had a great time at the park although at times it was cold and rainy.  I even enjoyed the park (had tried to find an excuse… but Isabelle shamed me into going… ).   The park has many attractions for all ages and the only thing I found not so “amusing” was that throughout the park they have statues often of frogs who “spit” on you.   We are not talking about a small spray or mist … but actual get you wet… jets of water…   (amount often determined by the size of the frog… the feature picture was the biggest and it really got you wet if you happened to walk on this bridge when it spit)…  Who thought of this???   Imagine the proposal… “lets put frogs throughout the park that spit on people… they will love it…”.   I have to admit it is funny watching others get spit on…  but not funny when it is cold and it happens to hit you at the level of your zipper… (kids kept asking me if I wet my pants)

Here are some family pictures hope you enjoy…

  1. Had never heard of this park but it reminds me of something we had in Canada many years ago to celebrate the centenary – 100 years from 1867 to 1967. There were pavillions for countries from all over the world – a wonderful way to discover different cultures. Well worth getting spit on! (and the kids must love that…)
